3.0 out of 5 stars Cute idea, but not the best design, July 19, 2007
By
We bought the bear version of this product to help my little boy stay with us when we're out. He can now escape from the stroller easily, and he is way faster than my pregnant body can keep up with. And we want him (and the places we visit) to be safe! My husband's cousin's little boys have loved their little "backpacks," and my son was really excited to wear his. However, when we got the harness home, as I was looking at the design of the product, I realized that having the buckles in the FRONT would not work for us--my son knows how to open those kinds of buckles. He would be out of that in a flash! And many other children would be able to escape easily, too. I'm sure that there is a way to design this product with the buckles in back under the backpack so only the parent can access them! We are taking our harness back and getting one with no fasteners in front. Nice idea, but not designed too intelligently.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Independant, June 20, 2007

I have had this now for over a year and a half and my now 2 and a half year old loves it. She has used it at Disneyland, Sea World, and many other places where strollers are not possible/impractical. As soon as she sees the leash, she gets excited, knowing that she will be able to talk a walk and see things that she would not be able to see from a stroller.
I have had so many people stop me to ask where I found this (Target for me) and that they had been looking everywhere for something like this. So far, no one has made a snide comment about having my child on a leash...which I fully expected getting at least once or twice. I think of it like this...My child, on a leash, where I have control over her is a heck of a lot safer and more secure than one wandering without one. I don't have to worry about someone snatching her. Every little movement she makes transfers up the tether, so I know where and what she is doing, even if I am not looking at her. And, I have no problem... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Returning it, March 16, 2007
This harness is really cute....which is why I snatched it up without thinking...... but the tether is too short and I think it will be way too hot to wear in warm weather. Plus, you can't fit a lot into the backpack. Why would you anyway? It would just make it heavy for the baby. My son hates it. I'm looking for a simple harness with a flexible or retractable tether.
